We thrive on solving challenging problems and our mission is to empower creators to own their destiny.

Please note that this is a hybrid role located in Boston that requires an onsite component 2x/week. Fully remote candidates will not be considered at this time.

About the Team:

Our Product Design team is organized into a series of product pillars, where multiple teams are contributing to the goals of a larger mission. This role sits within the Intelligence pillar for reporting but, due to the nature of our AI experiences, will work across Pillars to deliver a unified AI experience.

The designers focusing on our AI experiences have an innate understanding that the designs they craft will need to account for the probabilistic conditions of generative AI experiences. It is a unique challenge that requires strong customer empathy and an innate knack for designing experiences that evolve with our customers. You will work and collaborate with other designers on the team to integrate innovative AI experiences to ensure we empower our customers to reach new heights.

About the Role:

Here at Klaviyo, we are proud of our data and our goal is to harness that wealth of numbers and present them to our customers in a way that is actionable, intuitive, and accessible.

As we continue to invest in our AI experiences, we are seeking to add an additional designer to our team that helps our customers play the game of Klaviyo better than they can play it themselves.Through this role, you will be helping design the future of Klaviyo AI as we expand it across the entire experience. Your responsibilities will include: brainstorming the next great AI feature and service model in partnership with Product Managers, Engineers, and more senior designers within the AI space. You’ll be prototyping the experience, assisting during agile development, tweaking pixels right before launch, and working with customers to perform usability testing.

You will also be expected to utilize your full range of product design, service design, interaction design, and visual design skills, and – individually – maintain a level of ownership and expertise of AI at Klaviyo.

How You’ll Have an Impact:

  • Design great user experiences that ensure our AI Interfaces are consistent across our platform and make use of appropriate context to maximize the value to our customers
  • Take broad, conceptual ideas, often involving complex data models, and turn them into useful and valuable outputs for our rapidly growing customer base
  • Partner with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers and Content Strategists to design the user experience of a product to evolve the concept into a production ready design and post-launch optimizations
  • Give, solicit, and take feedback from other designers, engineers, and product managers to continually raise our bar for quality
  • Understand and co-own the success metrics for owned product areas

What You’ll Need:

  • 2+ years of professional design experience or Masters degree with a background in data AI or conversational design
  • Knowledge of generative AI technology and trends, as well its rapidly evolving applications in product design
  • At least a base level understanding of different types of AI algorithms and their pros and cons when designing an ideal experience including an understanding of feedback loops as part of an overall service model
  • A portfolio of projects supporting end-to-end product development cycle, from audience definition to product adoption
  • A deep understanding of the end-to-end iterative UX process, including wire-framing, prototyping, user research, and design systems; you can concept, prototype, design, and present solutions that solve user and business problems, delivering measurable outcomes
  • Proven self-motivated, detail-oriented craftsperson, able to work efficiently and effectively with other designers, developers, product managers and marketers

Nice to Have:

  • Understanding of probabilistic design
  • Service design experience for SaaS, conversational interfaces, and/or AI systems
  • Experience crafting conversational interfaces
  • Experience working with data to create actionable experiences for users
  • The ability to think at a high level about product strategy and vision (not just 'how it should look' but 'what we should build' and ‘how we will know customers love it’)
  • Ability to adapt to new information and an openness to change conclusions when necessary; if one approach doesn’t work, you’re ready to try something else
  • Experience designing with Figma

Compensation: $112,000—$168,000 USD
